Laboratory of Animal Molecular Physiology located at the Institute of
Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences, headed by dr. Michał
Turek seeks a productive, creative, and motivated research assistant (lab
manager) to join a project that aims to dissect the epigenetic mechanisms
underlying the regulation of exophers formation in the C. elegans model
organism (Turek et al. EMBO Rep. 2021). The position is funded by the
National Science Centre in the frame of the SONATA BIS project no.
2021/42/E/NZ3/00358 entitled: “Epigenetic regulation of exophers biogenesis”.
The project will combine C. elegans genetics and epigenetics, imaging
techniques, and phenotypic analysis.
The successful applicant will carry over the duty of Lab Manager in general
support of the project and research activities in the laboratory (e.g.
conduct molecular biology experiments, prepare general media for the
laboratory, perform training for new laboratory members, manage supplies,
maintain laboratory databases).
Full-time employment contract for up to 5 years, starting from November 1st, 2022 or as soon as possible
Gross salary of about 5400 PLN/month (with an additional 13th salary)

REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL
Biological sciences: Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Bachelor or Master in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or related fields
Outstanding organization skills
Documented experience in molecular biology, microscopy, or biochemistry
Expertise and competence in designing and carrying out scientific experiments and in interpreting its results
Independent thinking and a good team spirit are expected
Very good command of Polish and English (written and oral communication)
Experience in work with C. elegans model organism will be a strong advantage
