Offer Description

The applicant for the post of assistant should demonstrate the ability to carry out research and development work in the area of prevention of major industrial accidents in the field of explosion and flammability of various materials, including wood dusts and plant protection products. In addition, knowledge of the fundamentals of the physics of explosion, physiochemistry of combustion processes and conducting statistical calculations at the level of developing laboratory results is expected. Research independence, ability to pose and solve research problems, correct preparation of research reports, scientific studies and their publication in journals are expected.

  • A candidate for the position of research assistant should:

  • Have at least a Master's degree or equivalent in the field of chemistry.

  • Have proven command of English in a form of:

  • A certificate confirming the knowledge of English at minimum B2 level ,

  • or

  • An exam of English passed before a teacher/examiner.

  • Have basic knowledge of the research field CIOP-PIB is active in, to be verified in the job interview.

  • Be an author or co-author of scientific papers with a minimum total value of 150 points, taking into account the candidate's individual contribution.
  • List of publication categories:

  • scientific papers published in scientific journals, included in and ranked according to the list announced by the minister responsible for science, applicable at the time of publication, as well as peer-reviewed scientific articles in journals outside this list , 1
  • scientific monographs and/or chapters in scientific monographs and/or scientific editing of monographs issued by publishing houses included in and ranked according to the list of publishing houses issuing peer- reviewed scientific monographs, announced by the minister responsible for science, applicable at the time of publication , 1
  • conference materials in the form of a chapter in a post-conference monograph issued by a publishing house included in and ranked according to the list of publishing houses issuing peer-reviewed scientific monographs, announced by the minister responsible for science, applicable at the time of publication, 2
  • conference materials in the form of a post-conference paper published in a journal included in and ranked according to the list announced by the minister responsible for science, applicable at the time of publication , 2
  • conference materials published before 2019 and indexed in the Web of Science CC or Scopus databases.
  • Rules for points determination:

  • for multi-author scientific papers, scientific monographs and chapters in scientific monographs as well as scientific editing of monographs and conference materials, the total point value referred to in point 4 should take into account the individual input depending on the substantive contribution of the candidate ,

  • scientific papers published before 2019 shall be graded according to the list announced by the minister responsible for science, applicable on the date of publication, with the number of points obtained multiplied by 4,
  • scientific papers published after 2019 in peer-reviewed journals outside the list have a value of 5 points,
  • chapters in monographs, scientific monographs, scientific editing of monographs published before 2017 are graded according to the regulation by the minister responsible for science applicable on the date of publication, and the number of points obtained is multiplied by 4,
  • conference materials published before 2019 and indexed in the Web of Science CC or Scopus databases have a value of 60 points.
  • Participate:
  • As a principal investigator in at least 1 (national or international) project/task and have at least 2 years of experience in conducting (national or international) research projects/tasks immediately prior to applying for the research assistant position
  • or

  • In the development and submission of a patent and/or utility model, as a primary author.

  • The following will be considered additional assets:
  • Master of science, engineer,
  • advanced knowledge of chemistry and physics of explosion,
  • experience in the operation of a research laboratory in the area of explosivity and flammability,
  • ability to perform statistical calculations for analysing laboratory test results,
  • ability to interpret obtained research results and present them in scientific publications in English and presentations at international scientific conferences,
  • experience in conducting (national and international) research projects,
  • aptitude to work in science - ability to pose research problems and resolve them, research independence,
  • scientific achievements in the field of fire and explosion hazards,
  • fluency in spoken and written Polish,
  • teaching skills.
  • Candidates are requested to submit the following documents:
  • A duplicate or certified true copies of:
  • a university diploma,
  • other documents confirming candidate's qualifications.
  • A summary of research and development, teaching and organisational accomplishments, including:
  • A list of publications,
  • A description of the previous research activity,
  • A list of major research and development works and studies.4
