Research Assistant in Preclinical Neurosciences

NDCN, FMRIB, University of Oxford, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford Grade 6: £29,176 - £34,804 per annum

An exciting opportunity to join the WIN Preclinical MRI Group as a postgraduate research assistant. You will carry out studies with MRI, histology, and behavioural assays in the nervous system, with an initial focus on understanding sex differences in the brain, and later expanding into additional techniques and experiments.

Techniques would include MRI, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, and behavioural assessments, as well as more general wet lab techniques. You will work in a vibrant, diverse, and multidisciplinary department with access to state-of-the art facilities

It is essential that applicants hold a degree in neuroscience or a related area (bachelors) and relevant experience of a range of wet lab techniques. It would be advantageous if applicants have experience with histological staining, including immunohistochemistry and/or immunofluorescence.

The post is full-time for a fixed term of 2 years in the first instance.
