At the Clinical Epidemiology Division, one of our research groups work with
clinical epidemiological research on rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic
inflammatory diseases, in close collaboration with translational and clinical
researchers. Our work focuses on models for personalized treatment of
rheumatoid arthritis. We use a combination of register, clinical, genetic,
serological and lifestyle data in advanced computational models.
We are now recruiting a research assistant to our team to work with data
analysis and data management. If you want to gain practical experience of
handling and analyzing real world medical and epidemiological data in an
interdisciplinary team of researchers with various backgrounds such as
medicine, epidemiology, mathematics and computer science, this position will
be of interest to you!
The candidate will work with management of our raw and derived data, including
the preparation of study data for various research projects, and in our
projects focused on personalized medicine: the execution of statistical and
computational analyses of the same large-scale data.
The successful candidate has experience from different analytical methods
acquired through a formal education and a Bachelor or Master's degree in
computer science, machine learning or similar field. This formal training must
have included statistical analysis, machine learning, handling of big data and
programming in various languages. Proficiency with R, Python and Bash
scripting in Linux are required. Experience with TensorFlow and GPU programing
is considered a merit. You are keen on learning new methods and algorithms and
have an interest in epidemiology, medical research and contributing to
improved patient care and health.
The successful candidate enjoys working in an interdisciplinary team, is
organized, structures and documents the code and works with version control.
As the candidate will be working as part of a team, emphasis is put on
communication skills and personal suitability. Fluency in English (oral and
written) is a requirement.

group contains well over 30 people (PhD students, postdocs, senior
researchers, clinician researchers, and statisticians with various
backgrounds), with a common research interest, namely to study inflammatory
