Duties and Responsibilities
-Carries out experiments as instructed by Principle Investigator (PI).
Assists with experimental procedures involving bacteria and non-pathogenic
viruses, preparing reagents and solutions, and making direct experimental
- Performs basic lab techniques required to complete the project. Techniques
performed may include ELISA, Western Blot analysis, luciferase reporter
assays, plaque assays, cloning and expressing genes of interest, real-time
PCR, and an option for limited work with mouse model systems
- Gathers, organizes, and records data. Performs simple analysis of results.
May assist with library and/or electronic research. Incorporates new protocols
and methodologies into work as directed by PI and/or senior lab staff.
- May assist in ordering lab supplies when required. Maintains orderly
records of purchases.
- Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with

accordance with direction from individual PI.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree Preferred: Masters Degree
Specify Degree(s): Biological or physical sciences Minimum Experience:
Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience Preferred: 3-5 years of
previous job-related experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology or
