Baker Lab -Carries out experiments as instructed by Principle Investigator (PI). Assists with experimental procedures involving bacteria and non-pathogenic viruses, preparing reagents and solutions, and making direct experimental measurements. - Performs basic lab techniques required to complete the project. Techniques performed may include ELISA, Western Blot analysis, luciferase reporter assays, plaque assays, cloning and expressing genes of interest, real-time PCR, and an option for limited work with mouse model systems - Gathers, organizes, and records data. Performs simple analysis of results. May assist with library and/or electronic research. Incorporates new protocols and methodologies into work as directed by PI and/or senior lab staff. - May assist in ordering lab supplies when required. Maintains orderly records of purchases. - Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with safety regulations. - Performs techniques and assists with experiments specific to lab and in accordance with direction from individual PI. - Performs other duties as assigned. -Support research projects by performing routine cultures, western blot, gel electrophoresis and other routine molecular and cellular biology assays and analyses, as instructed by the Principal Investigator (PI) and other lab members. https: //

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree Preferred: Masters Degree Specify Degree(s): Biological or physical sciences Minimum Experience: Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience


- Bachelor of Science degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology or related field -Excellent bench skills -Flexible with technological challenges -Ability to work independently -Strong organizational skills -Goal and deadline oriented -Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills, as evidenced by a publication record



Computer Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
