Research Assistant I in the Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 520396) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or above in cancer/molecular biology/cellular biology, and with research (laboratory work) experience in cellular biology and signal transduction pathway research. They must have a good command of English, good interpersonal and communication skills, a strong enthusiasm and positive attitude of learning new skills, and able to show initiative and the ability to work independently.

The appointee will join a research group with key objectives of improvement of pathological diagnosis and investigation of novel treatments for patients in great medical needs. The group is currently conducting Government-funded clinical and scientific research projects on female genital tract cancers and the appointee will have opportunities to conduct scientific research on in vitro and in vivo experiments on using novel drugs. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
