Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Department of Psychiatry (Ref.: 511380) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

This is an exciting opportunity for the appointee to join the multidisciplinary PSI team based at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Hong Kong. The PSI team, made up of enthusiastic and highly motivated researchers and clinicians, is internationally renowned for its contribution towards clinical research in psychiatry and mental disorders. The Team's research provides significant insight and acts as an important informer for front-line mental health services.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in psychology, social sciences, or other healthcare-related disciplines. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, the willingness to learn new skills, a strong commitment to high quality research, good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize work and maintain a high level of effectiveness. The team is looking for an individual with high calibre to take part in clinical research projects with diverse interests, such as interventions and outcome measures of early psychotic disorders, or large-scale youth mental health assessments and services.

The appointee will work closely with professional researchers and clinicians to deliver and evaluate community assessments. He/She will also provide protocol-based interventions and support to people with mental health difficulties. This position would be ideal for someone wanting to gain in research and interventions that target early onset mental disorders, and to be equipped with substantial clinical skills at the same time. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
