Position is full-time calendar year, limited to 08/27/2022 with anticipated renewal.

Job Description Summary

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assist in performing routine laboratory experimental research and laboratory management.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct experimental research on the human genetic disease Fanconi anemia, including routine mammalian tissue culture, the preparation of cell lysates, analysis of human proteins via immunoblotting, and analysis of gene expression using qPCR.

Perform computer tasks related to scientific data processing, analysis, and interpretation, including analysis of high-throughput sequencing data.

Perform routine laboratory management function including ordering supplies, maintaining laboratory safety, and overseeing and assigning standard laboratory tasks to lab members.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties, as assigned.

LICENSES , TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers and printers; word processing, database management, spreadsheet software, other scientific analysis software, laboratory equipment as specified.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED :

1. Bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology or a related field.

2. Demonstrated experience in mammalian tissue culture and immunoblotting.

3. Demonstrated computer experience (including spreadsheet and other scientific analysis software).

4. Demonstrated organizational skills.

5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

6. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

7. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED :

1. Demonstrated experience in analysis of next-generation sequencing datasets and in immunofluorescence microscopy.
