Research Assistant (Fixed Term)

The Biffi Laboratory at the CRUK Cambridge Institute (part of the University of Cambridge) is seeking a motivated and dedicated Research Assistant to join a team that focuses on studying the tumour microenvironment of pancreatic cancer. The role will support a team that uses mouse and organoid models to understand and genetically and pharmacologically target cancer/fibroblast interactions in pancreatic cancer.

The CRUK Cambridge Institute provides cutting-edge scientific infrastructure and expertise. The successful candidate will have access to our world class core facilities and laboratory resources, while working with novel models in order to find new therapeutic strategies for pancreatic cancer.

The successful candidate will mainly provide research support to other group members in relation to our lab mouse work. Therefore, willingness to work with mouse models most of the time is required and previous experience with animal work is highly appreciated. The successful candidate should be excited about the overall research of the Laboratory, highly collaborative, possess good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team. The successful candidate should be happy to mainly play a support role for other members' research, rather than drive their own independent project.

Applicants should have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a relevant discipline, as well as practical laboratory experience in tissue culture and molecular biology.

For up to date information about the research group, please see our website at: https: // www.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance. However, candidates that are willing to fill in the position for longer are welcome and desirable.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part- time working or other flexible working arrangements.

Click the 'Apply' button below to register an account with our recruitment system (if you have not already) and apply online.

Please include details of your referees, including email address and phone number, one of which must be your most recent line manager.

The University actively supports equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
