Research assistantThere is a vacancy for a research assistant at the Department of Government, University of Bergen. The position is for a fixed-term period of 6 months. Total employment as a research assistant cannot exceed two years.
Research assistant is a recruitment position where the main task is to be a supporting entity to the academic staff in their instructional and research endeavors. The position will provide the opportunity to gain insight into scientific work and methodology.
As a research assistant you will be part of our research team in the new project “War Effects – Micro-Level Effects of Civil Wars on Multiple Dimensions of Women's Empowerment”.

In this project, we will explore if, how, and under what conditions civil wars affect gender relations at the subnational and individual level. Empirically, we will combine survey experiments, archival data, GIS, and qualitative field research in Colombia, DR Congo, and Sri Lanka.
Job description :
You will work independently and in collaboration with the PI and the research team. You will work on both research and administrative tasks.
1. Research-related tasks include, e.g., literature searches and review, data preparation and management
2. Administrative tasks include, e.g., social media, the organization of workshops and conferences, and assistance in administrative tasks
The place of work is in Bergen.
