About This Role:

Research Aide – Kansas Wild Turkey Research

70% - contacting private landowners for property access to research sites; collaborating with Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks to organize research activities; and procuring housing rental for research project. 20% - completing landcover maps for research sites. 10% organizing and preparing research equipment for research project. Primary duties will be to perform duties associated with initiation of state-wide research project on wild turkeys including establishing research sites, technician housing, and developing landcover maps.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in natural resources or related field
  • Experience with GIS and other computing systems to create landcover maps
  • Experience in collaboration with Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks
  • Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
