Job Summary

Dr. Garmire's Lab with the Department of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics is looking for a Research Associate I Temp to set up the cell culture wetlab and to conduct cell-culture experiments related to drug treatments in cancer cell lines and to set up SOP. The Research Associate I Temp will learn experimental procedures in single cell library preparations, manage and maintain 10x genomics controller box, set up SOP, engage collaborations in single cell experiments. This person will conduct DNA/RNA/Protein assays for human placenta tissues, coordinate with the cores and hospital for genomics assays and to perform minimal lab management and coordination duties.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in molecular epidemiology or biology, with prior experiences in setting up wetlab, cell cultures, DNA/RNA/Protein assays, comfortable with processing human tissues including placentas and cancer samples. Good inter-personal communication skills with team-playing spirit. Good written and oral English with evidence of multiple first-author publications.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
