The Regional Manager, under the direction of the Senior Manager, Future Students International will manage a team to develop and implement international student recruitment strategies and plans to achieve targets in the designated region. The position will work closely with faculties, schools and other stakeholders to achieve the Universities strategic outcomes in student recruitment. This role will have budget responsibility and will manage a small team.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Team management
Manage a team to develop and implement a recruitment plan to achieve lead capture, conversion, and recruitment targets for the designated region
Create a performance-orientated and collaborative team culture that strives for excellence in service delivery and deploys best practice
Support team members across the Future Students Division when workloads are uneven and share successful recruitment models
Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement international recruitment strategies and plans for the designated region, in consultation with the Senior Manager, Future Students
Maintain current and specialist knowledge about international recruitment from the target region and provide advice on the impact of legislation and political/social events within the region
Provide market intelligence; analyse data; and research market trends, entry requirements and competitor activity to inform strategy and develop plans to achieve recruitment targets within budget
Critically assess performance of recruitment initiatives against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and work with stakeholders, internally and externally, to design and deliver innovative recruitment plans and initiatives for the region
Identify and capture opportunities for new recruitment pathways and partnerships that will contribute to cultural diversity and discipline commencements targets
Ensure compliance, University policies and quality objectives are built into recruitment strategies and plans for the target region
Stakeholder engagement
Ensure effective channel partner and influencer engagement (eg in-market representatives, agents, schools, institutions, sponsors, parents and other stakeholders) including running UQ training sessions, and developing and monitoring performance of joint recruitment plans with key partners
Provide advice and work with internal stakeholders regarding recruitment, market research, trends, opportunities and challenges
Maintain effective working relationships with marketing, engagement and recruitment staff across the University (eg Marketing and Communications, Faculties, Institutes, Graduate School and Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship) to collaborate, share intelligence and leverage resources to achieve recruitment targets
Actively seek feedback from stakeholders to consider ways to improve recruitment outcomes from the target region
Future Student Engagement
Manage all aspects of assigned recruitment initiatives as directed by the Senior Manager, Future Students
Represent the University at both online and face-to-face student recruitment events designed to attract qualified and high achieving students
Provide accurate advice to prospective students and channel partners about UQ programs and admissions information
Participate, where appropriate, in orientation activities for students
Future Student Conversions
Ensure effective lead capture through the CRM to maximise opportunities for conversion campaigns
Work with stakeholders including International Admissions and provide timely market and cultural advice to develop and monitor tactical initiatives to achieve conversions for the target region
Marketing and Communications
Work with Marketing and Communication to develop annual recruitment plans that include tailoring marketing collateral (digital and print) and campaigns for the designated region, and jointly monitor outcomes for continuous improvement
Incorporate best practice and technology in recruitment plans to improve reach to prospective students, parents and channel partners
Reporting, Analysis and Administration
Track and monitor enquiry, conversion and recruitment pipelines for the designated region to assess progress against KPIs, and provide recommendations and respond to market shifts
Prepare concise briefing notes, reports, presentations and recruitment plans, and manage an annual budget for the designated region
Maintain expertise and knowledge of university policies, procedures and priorities relevant to international education recruitment within specified regional markets
Ensure processes are in place for UQ to meet compliance obligations eg staff and stakeholder training

About YouEssential
Completion of a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and/or training
Demonstrated strong track record in team and stakeholder management with a results-oriented and collaborative approach to deliver international student recruitment strategy and plans for the target region on time and within budget
Experience in recruitment innovation in the tertiary sector including developing new international partnerships with academic institutions and pathways to achieve conversion and recruitment targets
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various cultures, and work with teams across a multi-layed organization to co-ordinate and leverage resources
Experience in high level data analysis, performance monitoring, concise reporting, and budget management
Strong interpersonal communication skills including ability to represent the University professionally, build relationships with diverse stakeholders and present and inspire a large target audience
Knowledge of the Australian international higher education sector and international student recruitment activities in the designated region
This is a Full-time ,100% FTE, Continuing position at HEW Level 8.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $105,338.31 - $118,280.70 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range 123,245.82 – 138,388.42 per annum.
