Come join the UAA Recycling crew! Our student crew supports the UAA Recycling program by managing the bins throughout campus, to include emptying of bins on a schedule, maintaining bin inventory, sorting and delivering recyclables to the local drop destinations. This position pays $14.38 per hour!Duties:
Applicants must possess the ability work as part of a team, work independently, pay attention to detail, and follow directions. Strong time management and interpersonal communication skills are also required. Must be self-motivated and willing to work in semi-harsh weather conditions with the capability of lifting 60 or more pounds. Repetitive lifting and movement is required. Applicants must have a valid Alaska driver's license with a clean driving record.
No experience required. Previous experience related to a professional recycling program is beneficial.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a current student at UAA enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours in current semester or have been enrolled in the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters.
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must:
A.) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
B.) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans toenroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and
C.) Have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer of the Senior Student Services officer.
D.) An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.
Pay: This position pays $14.38 per hour!
