Position Summary Information

Job Summary

The University of Southern Indiana's Recreation, Fitness & Wellness Center (RFWC) seeks applications for a RFWC Opening Supervisor. This position is responsible for opening and operating the facility until administrative staff arrives.

Essential Functions include but not limited to:

  • Oversee welcome desk area, lobby, and game room.
  • Supervise and train student staff.
  • Assist and greet students, employees, and guests in a friendly and professional manner. Coordinate schedule of events and activities in the RFWC and maintain facilities schedule.
  • Assist with set up, take down, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Implement the RFWC risk management plan in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintain accurate department files and records.
  • Provide general information regarding office and University policies and procedures as needed.
  • Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma/GED with two to three years' experience required.
  • Knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheet, database and electronic mail software required.
  • Knowledge of database and desktop publishing software preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task required.
