Department Rutgers Global Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary

Rutgers Global is seeking experienced instructors for the Fall 2021 semester to teach a reading and writing course. The course will be divided into multiple parallel sessions and run simultaneously for 12 weeks. The weekly teaching is one and a half hours per session. Each instructor could cover one to three parallel sessions in Fall 2021, with the possibility to renew for the Spring 2022 and later. The instructor would be expected to teach critical reading and analytical writing to international, multilingual learners based in China as part of a collaborative program between Rutgers Global and South China University of Technology (SCUT). Courses would be synchronous and taught via remote instruction.

Under the supervision of academic teaching supervisors, instructors would be required to grade students' placement test, teach course material during the assigned course times, hold virtual office hours, review assignments, and assign essays, provide thorough comments on student compositions, assign grades, answer students' questions, and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction.

Due to the time difference, the classes times will be in the evenings EST. The time may be adjusted to account for Daylight Savings

Minimum Education and Experience

•Requires a master's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. •Requires up to two years relevant experience in teaching English reading and/or writing, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Fluency in English, with excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Previous English writing teaching experience required. Good computer literacy, and experience with MS Office ESL/EAL teaching experience
