Position descriptionThe School of Engineering anticipates hiring multiple Readers in the following disciplines in the 2023-2024 Academic Year (Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024):
Bioengineering Civil and Environmental Engineering Computer Science and Engineering Materials Science and Engineering Mechanical Engineering Management of Complex Systems Electrical Engineering

The Reader will be responsible for grading homework, quizzes, exams as needed under the supervisor of the instructor. The position will require up to a maximum of 18 hours per week.

QualificationsBasic qualifications
The Reader will be in good standing at UC Merced and have successfully completed course or related course he/she is appointed to as a Reader with a B or better. Readers will usually be graduate students; but qualified undergraduate students may be employed, especially when graduate students are not available. Professional readers, not enrolled as students, may be employed to meet special needs, but only on an hourly basis.
