Casual work can be very rewarding, and enables you to pick up work when it suits you, and it enables us to have access to talented staff to assist at specific times of need in the School.

The School of Health and Counselling offers a range of programmes from level 3 through to degree level. It is widely recognised in the health sector and is an integral part of MIT's overall success.

Casual opportunities can be for marking, practicum follow up, teaching and sit across the following programmes:

  • School of Health and Counselling - Preparation for Health , Foundation pathways to Nursing & Health Studies specialisation in English, Maths, Science
  • School of Health and Counselling - Community and health support specialisation in hospital or community setting preferably nurses for practicum cover
  • School of Health and Counselling - Mental health specialisation in mental health essential
  • School of Health and Counselling - Pharmacy specialisation in pharmacy and pharmacy technician
  • School of Health and Counselling - Public health and health promotion within diverse communities specialisation in public health, health promotion, indigenous
  • School of Health and Counselling - Counselling degree specialisation, counselling, creative and expressive modalities, trauma, psychology, human development, treaty teachings - must have te reo - mental health and addictions, working with children and young people, working with couples etc.
  • As a casual lecturer you will be delivering or supporting the lecturer with delivering, specific modules of learning to the students with requirements to assess and grade them both in the classroom and practice setting.

  • A desire to both challenge and cater for diverse learners with a willingness to enquire, engage and work collegially.
  • You don't need to be an experienced lecturer - we can help you with that. We are looking for those with a passion for their discipline, who enjoy facilitating learning and who are enthusiastic, innovative, flexible, committed and a good team player as well as having great presentation skills.
