As a member of our R&D team, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge through continuous training and guidance, to complete technical research tasks of existing and new EU funded research projects on 5G/6G of the company in collaboration with international partners.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

• University degree, Bachelor's degree and/or Masters of Science, and/or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in ICT and/or communications engineering related subject, preferably in Telecommunications Engineering with a focus on 5G and beyond mobile communication technologies.

• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated proficiency in configuring, managing and operating Software Defined Networks in Mobile Core Networks, and in particular, VNFs, Open-Source MANO, 5G Testbeds, 5G Core, 5G RAN.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills in English language.

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, including MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, including excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills.

• Strong analytical abilities with research analyses and evaluations.

• Technical problem-solving with superb planning and coordination skills.

Job Description

The successful candidate will need to work as a full-time employee from the company's premises in Nicosia, Cyprus. The candidate's duties will be to closely collaborate with other 5G (and beyond) research team members to manage, maintain and/or upgrade the 5G testbed of the company. Currently, the front-end of the 5G (and beyond) testbed is implemented comprising a laboratory-grade, 5G base station, and a state-of-the-art 5G Data Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible to operate and re-configure the back- end (Data Centre) of the 5G testbed, comprising of the servers, VNFs, and their configuration to be orchestrated by Open-Source MANO in a controller/compute notes configuration as a Software Defined Network. Closely work with the R&D Project Managers to successfully implement the requirements and obligations stemming from our participation in 5G/6G R&D&I EU-funded projects. Represent the company in 5G/6G related R&D/R&I projects, consortia, meetings, trainings, workshops, events, conferences, etc. Contribute to the writing of project deliverables and reports. Additionally, the successful candidate will work on experimental tasks of existing, as well as new research projects relevant to the 5G testbed. Interact with executive-level staff and project management office staff. Ability to perform in multicultural environments (sometimes under pressure), deliver results, meet deadlines, and work with minimum supervision. Meet KPI targets.
