This is a pivotal role in ensuring that the University's academic policies and regulations are applied consistently and fairly. Working at the heart of University governance this post enables a talented individual to work alongside senior colleagues in the development of key academic policies and regulations which have a direct and lasting impact on the quality of the student experience.

This is a hybrid working role, with a blend of working from home and at least one day in the office during a working week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with one of our four Faculties to provide advice and guidance to staff at all levels within the Faculty, on all aspects of the University's quality assurance policies and requirements; and supporting relevant external quality reviews;
  • providing advice and guidance to programme approval and review panels to ensure due process is followed and definitive programme documentation is completed, including officer support for panels convened to consider collaborative arrangements in the UK and overseas;
  • providing professional support for specified senior University committees;
  • leading sessions within the programme of staff development offered by the Academic Policy & Quality Office;
  • working with the Head of the APQO to draft and update sections of the University's Quality & Standards Handbook.
  • You should have:

  • an undergraduate degree, or equivalent vocational or professional qualification;
  • significant experience of academic administration in higher education, including committee servicing;
  • excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the University;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • excellent organisational and workload management skills.
