Job Summary

Provides entry level data entry and quality assurance review of environmental compliance investigation activities, reports and documentation. Ensures the quality and accuracy of investigation checklists and data entry. Provides assistance and backup to the QA Assistant II as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enters data from investigation checklists into proper databases.
  • Performs quality assurance of investigation checklists processed by other data entry staff, verifying all input for accuracy utilizing various websites.
  • Performs general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, scanning, answering incoming calls, and emailing faxes to investigators.
  • Performs reconciliation and delivery preparation of end-of-month investigation reports for delivery to our client.
  • Performs research using various websites to determine ownership of out of service and non-compliant facilities.
  • Provides support to the QA Assistant II and team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned .
  • Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree or high school plus six (6) years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial and clerical experience; or equivalent work experience may be substituted as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Solid working knowledge of TCEQ's CCEDS, PARIS and Central Registry databases; Microsoft, Teams Word and Excel; and PC's.
  • Follows all applicable institutional standard operating procedures. Adheres to institutional paper and electronic file management requirements.
  • Skills in communication both written and verbal, organization, attention to details, and working independently once training completed.
  • Ability to move to and from work space with little other movement required using wheelchair or other aid; learn, remember, and integrate complex concepts, difficult procedures, and complicated processes; communicate verbally with clients/customers/coworkers to gather information &/or explain policies/procedures; ability to routinely record information such as draft correspondence/reports/documents/policy/procedures, prepare case narratives, or prepare other lengthy documents using handwritten or mechanical means; perform visual activities requiring prolonged attention to detail such as editing and proofreading; hear and understand speech to interact with coworkers/clients/customers on a routine or frequent basis with use of amplifying equipment/hearing aids if needed.
  • Working Conditions

    Job functions performed indoors in usual office environment. Job activities include but not limited to sitting, standing, lifting and carrying batches of paper up to 10 lbs. Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional conferences.
