About the College/Unit/Department
The School of Social Work provides professional education to over 600 students through its CSWE– accredited B.S.W. and M.S.W. programs, Ph.D. program, as well as the Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership and Management program. The School of Social Work also offers joint M.S.W. degree programs with the School of Law, the College of Public Health, and the Emory University Candler School of Theology. The School of Social Work is nationally and internationally known for excellence in research, teaching, public service, international programs, and a commitment to social and economic justice. The Center on Human Trafficking Research and Outreach (CenHTRO) is a research center in the UGA SSW established in 2021 as a collaborative, cross- disciplinary, and international research hub in the global effort to combat human trafficking. CenHTRO conducts research, develops programming, and influences policies that drastically and measurably reduce human trafficking and other forms of exploitation.

Preferred Qualifications
· Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health or a relevant social science research field preferred; · Experience with collaborative, team-based qualitative research (especially within low- and middle-income countries); · Proficiency with standard CAQDAS programs (such as NVivo); · Experience with research on human trafficking or related social problems (gender-based violence, childhood trauma) and knowledge of trauma-informed research principles and practices.
Position Summary
In collaboration with the CenHTRO research team, the qualitative research support specialist will contribute to research studies relevant to the aims and objectives of CenHTRO. The position will involve supporting implementation of qualitative research studies about human trafficking and related topics collaboratively with team members located in multiple countries including the USA, UK, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The specialist will conduct a variety of research tasks as needed including: data cleaning, organizing and preparation, supporting IRB application writing/review, supporting research training for international research partners and students, conducting qualitative analysis and writing reports/articles for dissemination to a wide variety of audiences (e.g., academic, practitioners, governmental actors). In addition, the specialist will support maintenance and organization of the CenHTRO qualitative data archive. The qualitative research support specialist will work closely with the qualitative assistant research scientist and CenHTRO faculty/staff to achieve position responsibilities.
