    About the position

    The QA Lead will work closely with business and technical stakeholders within Projects portfolio delivery team within ITS in leading a team of QA Analysts to own the testing scope and defect management. Taking on a proactive leading role, the QA Lead will work closely with both Project teams i.e., Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Business stakeholders, and other teams that the application will be integrating/ interfacing with to ensure that the delivered solution meets business needs and high-quality standards.

    The QA Lead will support the wider Project Team members in the completion of project tasks and deliverables that relate to testing activities, e.g., analysis, planning, execution, reporting and closure.

    The QA Lead will also be a key contributor to the Testing Practice and play an active role in sharing knowledge and skills with other Senior QA Analysts and QA Analysts. This position requires practical commercial experience in the leading testing which the main focus on Vendor Testing Management, System Integration Testing (planning, execution and reporting), UAT Test Governance along with carrying out technical leadership responsibilities in both project work and operational support. Excellent communication, organization, technical proficiency, critical thinking and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude are required to succeed in this position.

    About you

  • A degree in Information Technology related fields which at least 3 years of QA Lead/ Test Lead with similar accountabilities; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • Solid knowledge and experience in use of MS Office Products, Test Management application and other. Testing tools and product suites to capture test coverage, execution, defect and statuses, in summary or detailed forms.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to work well within a project team, all levels of management and staff to achieve project goals and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in testing programs in large, multi- site, national organization/s and with large IT Projects (>$5 million) containing significant organizational change component and/or extensive experience within a higher education organization, i.e., University or TAFE.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a technical team with an ability to mentor other technical team members as required.

  • Demonstrated business analysis skills and ability to engage all project personnel, including;technical and nontechnical stakeholders – excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Sound knowledge of SQL and Data Warehousing with ability to write complex SQL queries.

  • Understanding of API Testing and API Testing tools such as SoapUI and ReadyAPI.

  • Understanding and ability to create/ improve automation framework and test using automations tools like Selenium, ReadyAPI or others.
