The part-time purchasing assistant provides clerical and other support
services in the purchasing department, including purchase orders,
requisitions, maintaining files, and answering telephones.
Changes purchase orders in PeopleSoft for end user such as price, product information, phone number and/or email address, and cancellation.
Reviews, processes, distributes, and closes requisitions and purchase orders.
Maintains purchasing documents, files, databases, and records (e.g. requests for proposal, bid files, contracts) for documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
Performs clerical task such as answering the telephones, scheduling, copying, faxing, and proofreading documents.
Provides information and assistance on purchasing policies, procedures, and services.
Obtains from vendors for requested commodities and services the ordering information, pricing, availability, and delivery date.
Assists with opening, recording, and tabulating competitive solicitation responses from vendors.
Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an
acceptable equivalency diploma.
