PT - Assistant Instructor, Fire Science
$ 16.16 per hour
Certified Firefighter I & II and EMT certified.
Two years' experience as a full-lime Firefighter and one year of
experience as a full-time instructor or the equivalent of part-time
Instructor in a Fire Program.
Demonstrated understanding of the community college philosophy and mission
and ability to work successfully with a diverse group
of students, faculty and staff.
May teach evenings and/or weekends as needed.
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Assist Instructors with lectures, skills and administration for the Fire
Serve students. Assist the instructor in the daily operation of the program,
including delivering lectures, project management, data entry and assignment
of reinforcement work for students.
Set up and breakdown equipment for use during practical skills training. Teach
skills in accordance with the Educational Standards and the course syllabi,
through both lecture and the practical hands on education. Courses may
include, theory, practical application, skills training or live scenarios.
Assist in lesson plan creation for assigned subjects, including the
development of PowerPoints, homework assignments.
Participates in educational and recruitment activities of the Public Safety
