The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a full-time Psychology Lecturer, beginning Fall 2023. This is a non-tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will be a psychology generalist with the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses and to participate in continued development of the UNT Dallas Psychology Department, which offers a B.A. degree in Psychology and will offer a B.S. degree in Psychology (concentration in Neuroscience) starting Fall 2023. This new faculty member will also provide leadership in developing curricula and experiential learning opportunities, with internships in multiple industry sectors and service- learning throughout the community.
We are particularly interested in student-centric, innovative, and energetic candidates who can help lead the development of UNTD's Psychology Department through program development, student recruitment, community outreach, and potential student research lab opportunities. We seek a Psychology generalist who can contribute to the Psychology program by teaching a range of courses, including but not limited to Social Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Introduction to Psychology, Careers in Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Personality, and Capstone. This new faculty member will also be responsible for advising student organizations, developing online courses, and building collaborative relationships with area agencies, clinics, hospitals, and private sector entities.
Position Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES : Expectations for Lecturers at UNTD include excellent teaching, and service, resulting in contributions equivalent to a four-course load each semester. This workload expectation can be fulfilled through a combination of teaching, service, and program development. Faculty are also expected to participate in such service activities as curriculum development, student recruiting and advising, program assessment, and committee leadership.
