Salary Information $195,000.00 Department Summary

The University of North Texas (UNT) Student Health and Wellness Center is a full-service medical center offering general wellness and specialty medical care to all UNT students. We are staffed with licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified lab technologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed nurses, and medical assistants.

Position Overview

To provide care for patients with various psychiatric/mental health conditions in a college health setting by clinical assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.

Minimum Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited medical school and successful completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry; Board Certification or Board Eligible in psychiatry from a recognized board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentials. • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in evaluating, planning, implementing individual patient care. • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of medicine. • Ability to care for a diverse patient population. • Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Job Duties

Presents a professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external customers. Follows appropriate chain of command.

Participates in all mandatory SHWC trainings and meetings, including committees, as assigned. Practices and follows proper privacy and security regulations.

Participates/volunteers with SHWC events, including internal events, orientations, etc.

o

Practices competent, responsible medicine (through evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients with psychiatric illness and mental health problems) at the SHWC in accordance with generally accepted standards of care.

o

Other duties as assigned.
