We offer a full-time contract for 3 months and a possibility for extension for 11 months in the Horizon-funded project “ReConnect China”, in which the Centre for East Asian Studies (CEAS) of the University of Turku is one of 15 European partners. The ReConnect project mobilizes leading scientific expertise and innovative digital technologies to generate a deeper, sustainable understanding of contemporary China in Europe. In order to promote independent European knowledge on contemporary China and to make it available for a broader audience, the project will produce four bachelor level introductory massive open online courses (MOOC) and a series of podcasts. This work is based upon CEAS' solid experience in developing inspiring MOOC- Courses and podcasts.

Description of duties
The successful candidate is expected to develop four China-related MOOC- courses and coordinate the publishing of podcasts.
Key responsibilities:
1. to create MOOC-courses in collaboration with ReConnect partners under supervision of the PI Outi Luova
2. to coordinate the publication of ReConnect-podcasts. The podcasts will be recorded by project partners, and the task of the project coordinator is to coordinate editing, creating of text alternatives, scheduling, and publishing.

We offer an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the dissemination on European China-expertise to European students and wider audience. The appointed project coordinator will work in a dynamic and international CEAS- community in collaboration with leading European China-experts.
The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The position belongs to the category of other expert and support staff at level 8-9 on the task-specific chart. In addition, a performance component reflecting an evaluation of the position-holder's personal achievement will be added. The pre-estimated salary will be about 2900-3200 €/month depending on the person's competence and experience.
The person chosen for the position is expected to begin their employment on the 1st of March 2023 or as per agreement. The employment contract is made until 31st May 2023 and includes an option for extension until 30th April 2024. The trial period will be one month.
