Salary Information Commensurate with experience Department Summary

The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) is a nationwide consortium of science professionals and institutions collaborating to provide students and scientists across all career stages of research in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and social sciences with enhanced networking, professional development, research resources, and mentorship experiences. The National Research Mentoring Network- Resource Center (NRMN-RC) is housed at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and provides a web-based mentoring tool, www. nrmnet.net, to facilitate realtime mentor/mentee engagement and networking.

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for assisting the Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators with the day- to-day management of the NRMN project.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication skills (professionalism, empathy, interviewing)
  • Well organized and attention to details
  • Be self-motivated, flexible/adaptable, and can work independently
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
  • Able to work with research tracking databases (Excel, REDCap)
  • Able to document research procedures
  • Able to assist in data management and quality control
  • Preferred Qualifications

    BA/BS in science, public health, social science or mathematics, STEM, education, or related field. Academic project management experience. Proficiency with a wide rand of PC and Mac software applications including MS Access, webpages, spreadsheets, databases, word processing. Experience recruiting and retaining individuals.

    Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00

    Job Duties

    o

    Organize and assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of NRMN-RC day-to-day activities and resources to ensure project deliverables are met, under the direction of the NRMN-RC leadership.

    o

    Responsible for all project administrative activities such as coordinating meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, organizing data, assisting collaborators, amongst other items.

    o

    Engage and assist with recruitment and engagement efforts of individuals to/within the NRMN network as well as assist with NRMN dissemination efforts

    o

    Work with organizations/institutions from various geographical regions to engage them, and their members, in NRMN.

    o

    Coordinate and assist with the preparation of reports and presentations to funders, stakeholders, and other entities

    o

    Assist with the daily management of fiscal matters and financial reporting

    o

    Coordinate and assist with NRMN-RC sustainability efforts

    o

    Other duties as assigned
