The Centre for Information Modelling is looking for a

Project Assistant without doctorate

(20 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 2 years; position to be filled as of now )

Your duties
  • Conception and development of a workflow for the capturing of antique inscriptions in cooperation with the technical project management and the scientific project coordinators
  • Adaptation and further development of a corresponding data acquisition environment in front- and backend (eXist-db, JavaScript)
  • Support and training of the scientific project members
  • Assistance in data management and improvement of data quality through automated processes (XSLT)
  • Co-development of the publication environment in the institutional repository GAMS
  • Your profile
  • Completed Master's degree in the humanities, information science or computer science, ideally with a focus on digital humanities
  • Proven working knowledge with X-technologies (XQuery, XSLT, XPath)
  • Proven experience with front-end development and knowledge of current web technologies and frameworks (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap)
  • Knowledge of modelling humanities data using TEI/XML (desirable)
  • Experience in the field of software development (desirable)
  • Experience in working with XML databases and their query (desirable)
  • Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
  • Willingness to independently familiarize yourself with the technologies and tools used in the project
  • Excellent command of German
  • Good knowledge of English language beneficial

    Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

    Minimum salary

    The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 1485.80 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
