Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a GME Program Manager for the Department of Medicine/Education Office within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Core Program Director and the Vice Chair for Education, the GME Program Manager will manage the daily office operations and administration of the Department of Medicine/Education Office and supervise the GME Program Coordinators in their duties and in providing support for the Medicine residents and the Clerkship Program. The GME Program Manager will also supervise the Medicine Fellowship Program Coordinators in their administrative and educational roles that will be commonly managed through the Medicine Education Office. The GME Program Manager will provide staff leadership for Medicine education programs and will report to the Core Program Director and the Sr. Director of Administration, and will be responsive to the requirements of the Fellowship Program Director.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Assists with the marketing and promotion of new and existing programs and services to internal and external prospective students and housestaff.
  • Participates in School and University-wide committees to establish program standards and administrative plans and policies.
  • Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.
  • Ensures program and leadership satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.
  • Manages the production and distribution of manuals/handbooks for housestaff.
  • Manages the production and distribution of annual rotation schedules and changes including entering and updating in New Innovations.
  • Manages the production and distribution of housestaff on-call and service schedules including distribution in AMION and didactic conference schedules.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7-10 years graduate medical education coordination experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department and program(s).
  • Must have an understanding of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements for Institutional, Common, and specialty program requirements and the accreditation process.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently prioritize work and utilize resources effectively.
  • Proficient with Windows applications and Microsoft Office Suite Applications including.
  • PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and Internet applications.
  • Experience with the use Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
  • Proficient with Resident Management System applications, such as New Innovations.
  • Proficient with use of standard office equipment, copier, fax.
  • Proficient with use of audio-visual equipment.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • National Board for Certification of Training Administrators of Graduation Medical Education Certification in Internal Medicine.

    Immunization Requirements
