Working Title Program Manager, Strategic Engagement (NSRI)Position Number Job Description Summary
The National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska (NU) is seeking applications for a qualified Program Manager for Engagement. This position will lead the development and execution of NSRI initiatives to engage NU researchers and NSRI customers in order to identify and leverage novel capabilities in academic research to help NSRI meet its mission and respond to customer challenges. This position will build relationships with NSRI researchers and NU faculty to understand capabilities, connect these capabilities to opportunities and prepare for interactions with potential DOD and federal government funding agencies.
Through engagement activities, NSRI grows a strong pipeline of focused research and development activity that can positively impact today's strategic deterrence and CWMD missions and give warfighters insight into future capabilities. The institute also seeks to inspire the next generation of the national security workforce through student development internships and programs.
The Program Manager for Engagement will primarily report to the NSRI Director of Communications and will interact regularly with NSRI leadership and staff as well as peers and partners across the University of Nebraska System.

NSRI is engaged in a long-term, strategic partnership with our DoD sponsor, USSTRATCOM. NSRI provides essential research, development and support for USSTRATCOM, other DoD components and federal agencies focused on established research core competencies, including Nuclear Detection and Forensics, Detection of Chemical and Biological Weapons, Active and Passive Defense against Weapons of Mass Destruction, Consequence Management, and Mission Related Research. NSRI receives funding from project sponsors through contracts generated from our sole-source, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with USSTRATCOM, as well as other direct contract vehicles and grants.

Applicants should note: This is a full-time 1.0 FTE position that can be based out of NSRI's offices in either Omaha or Lincoln, Nebraska. Partial remote work may be authorized at the discretion of NSRI management. Periodic travel is required to NSRI's offices in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, University of Nebraska System Campuses, NSRI Field Offices in Maryland, Virginia and Florida and other locations where business and/or training is conducted.
Compensation: This is a managerial/professional position that is considered salaried/exempt. Salary will be commensurate with Experience and Contributing Attributes, with $65,000/year as the minimum.
