    About – University Communications & Marketing The University's Communications and Marketing function provides strategic, advisory and operational services to support the academic mission and the University strategy. It fosters a culture of best practice and collaboration across the University's communication and marketing teams and stakeholders and uses data-driven insights to inform decision-making across the University.

    About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Program Director to lead the planning and delivery of Open Day 2023, one of the most exciting and important in the University's calendar. The event will have significant and highly visible digital and physical deliverables and plays a vital role in supporting student engagement strategy. You will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse network of stakeholders across the University, truly immersing yourself in our ecosystem and gaining valuable insights into our operations.

    The Program Director – Open Day will report to the Associate Director of Student Marketing Communications and will play a key role in, developing, mobilising and executing the Open Day 2023 strategy, informed by learnings from Open Day 2022. The role will lead cross-discipline teams to establish an integrated plan and operating rhythm that ensures key deliverables are met on time and to budget.

    Responsibilities include:

  • Review past learnings and recommendations to develop a 2023 program strategy that reflects University objectives and prospective student needs.
  • Build relationships with and effectively engage University leadership and subject matter experts to design the overall 2023 program for endorsement.
  • Develop project development and implementation plans to achieve desired outcomes for the program – including resource, budget, timing requirements/plans, risks registers and mitigation plans.

  • Provide strong leadership for the Program and ensure cross-functional teams are effectively engaged and aligned to achieve deliverables.

  • About You You are an experienced leader with demonstrated ability to lead and deliver customer-facing projects within a complex organisation, ideally with a digital focus. Your excellent interpersonal and engagement skills enable you to form effective working relationships with a diverse range of collaborators and motivate and manage teams to deliver high-quality outputs. You have an analytical and creative approach to problem-solving and finding new ways to deliver solutions that are best both for the University and customer.

    You will also have:

  • Postgraduate relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Expertise in leading practices related to audience experience, which may include Human Centred Design/Design Thinking, Agile and contemporary project management and process improvement methodologies.
  • Significant experience in Program and Project Management, ideally with strong experience leading customer-facing, digital projects.
