Position Function:
As a member of the staff of the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, the Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing cultural diversity programs, activities and special events.
Salary Grade: 13

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and lead large-scale social, cultural and educational programs and events that promote belonging and inclusion on campus
2. Conduct ongoing assessment of programs and events, as well as annual goals and objectives related to the student experience
3. Engage with students, serve as an advocate, refer to resources, and provide student interventions as needed. Maintain complete and accurate record of interactions/contacts with students
4. Create an aesthetically welcoming and embracing community for students at the University
5. Assist with special projects related to other aspects of student development
6. Serve on divisional, university and community committees as assigned or required.
7. Supervise office student staff, including but not limited to, student workers, student interns, and Graduate Assistants.
8. Assist the Director of the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center in administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in student development, counseling, educational leadership or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in student development, counseling, educational leadership, or a related behavioral field; minimum of three years' work; grant writing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity and experience with cultural diversity and programming. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advising skills. Sound judgment. Ability to build relationships with other university, community and global units. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment, work in close knit office as part of a team.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Ability to occasionally work long hours on evenings and weekends. No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. Meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position. Job frequently requires sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
