Position Summary

UNC Lineberger was founded in 1975, and is one of 40 National Cancer Institute (NCl)-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country. UNC Lineberger's mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training and outreach.

The mission of the Cancer Outcomes Research Program (CORP, Outcomes) is to support research by UNC faculty and trainees that evaluates and improves quality, access, cost, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, and equity of cancer screening and care delivery.

This position will perform a variety of social research functions to address the needs of the CORP and the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE). The primary focus of the position is to help lead the assigned short- and long-term activities of the Outcomes program and to support the entire research portfolio. This position will assist with pre- and post-award functions, dissemination of programmatic research results to the broader research community, and other project management activities. Finally, this position will support 2-3 faculty leaders in the Cancer Outcomes program to determine goals for the program, upcoming research activities, proposal development, and other related tasks and work closely with other CORP and COE leaders and personnel.

This position will be work with UNC investigators coordinating various seminars and meetings, communicating with non-UNC investigators nationally and internationally who are conducting collaborative work with Program members, evaluating funding opportunities, coordinating existing funding including both internal and external sources, overseeing annual UNC competitive grants programs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
