Position Description
Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to
planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational
activities of the program

Major/Essential Functions
Will report directly to the Sr. Director for Diversity and Global Health.
Assist in developing and coordinating new outreach and engagement programs
to attract community college and undergraduate students into healthcare
fields offered at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso
(TTUHSC EP), including nursing, biomedical sciences, medicine, and
dentistry
Responsible for implementing programming to help increase the number of
students who choose to enter health care careers, to provide students of
health-related programs with real-life experiences in community and rural
settings
Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and developing data relative to
programs, making recommendations, and assisting in the implementation of
projects
Responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of the Area Health
Education Centers (AHEC) activities for TTUHSC EP departments and
outside organizations
Responsible for the planning of free or low-cost continuing education
opportunities for health care professionals through workshops, training,
and programs that will enhance cultural competencies
Provide administrative support to all of the diversity and global health-
related student groups on campus. This individual would also be the
liaison between the various student affairs on campus
Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Senior Director
Assist in the development of successful marketing tools and campaigns to
increase event attendance

Preferred Qualifications
Six (6) years of experience in related field or a Bachelor's degree in
the related field. Must be able to work independently to accomplish tasks
and directives. Excellent communication and writing capabilities; and
management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Outlook, Publisher, Power
Point, etc.).
Previous experience in recruitment
Previous experience with coordinating multiple activities and/or projects
Prior experience in data entry and development of marketing design
Experience in healthcare and university setting
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Suite Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and
other graphic design software applications

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual
