The Leadership Development Coordinator III for the Follett Student Leadership Center will assist in the management, supervision, and day-to-day operation of all Leadership Center workshops and workshop series and ongoing campus-wide leadership development programming. The Follett Student Leadership Center provides various leadership education and development programs to a diverse campus community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and administration of all departmental workshops including Leadership Framework workshops, our T.E.A.M. Certification program, Don't Cancel Class campaign, and other series.
  • Develop new workshop opportunities to meet the needs of our diverse campus community (affinity and non-affinity based).
  • Assist in the implementation of current and new leadership development programs focused on the student body at-large (with particular emphasis on transfers, commuters, and non-traditional students), including a new Global Leadership program focused on international perspectives in leadership.
  • Serve as a departmental liaison to other departments on campus to consult and incorporate leadership education into existing work on campus.
  • Create and present customized, leadership workshops for student organizations, groups, and departments throughout the year.
  • Represent the Leadership Center on various campus and community projects and committees.
  • Assist in the day-to day operations of the Leadership Center and participate in large departmental events such as the Fall Leadership Retreat, signature leadership programs, and Leadership Recognition Ceremony.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR the equivalent when considering educational background combined with work experience. Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating student programs.
  • Ability to utilize independent thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with a diverse population; excellent writing and public speaking skills. Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Licenses: Class “C” Operator's Driver's License.
  • Applicant selected must provide a current three-year Driving Record from the current state of residence.
  • If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Master's Degree in higher education, student personnel, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of leadership theory, leadership education programming, budget planning, program management, and student advising techniques. Experience with event management and event production. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong assessment experience. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Effective organizational skills, including ability to plan for future events and to execute in a timely manner. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.

    Working Conditions

    In addition to the typical 8-5 pm workday, this position requires some evening and weekend hours at Follett Student Leadership Center sponsored programs and attendance at regional and national professional development seminars and conferences. May be required to drive a 15-passenger van in order to transport students to meetings and conference.

    Must be able to develop and manage relationships with campus stakeholders to successfully administer leadership development programming.
