Job Title Program Analyst (Assessment and Accountability)

Full Time/Part Time Full Time FLSA Exempt General Job Description

This is a professional position responsible for performing complex work involving data collection, management, evaluation, and reporting related to maintaining program accreditations in the James I. Perkins College of Education (PCOE). Provides support for continuous improvement activities in the PCOE. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Technology Coordinator.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supports management in data collection, data manipulation, and data analysis.
  • Organizes, priorities, and documents project work, activities, and scheduling/deployment of assessments.
  • Queries, manipulates, troubleshoots, and analyzes data supporting the PCOE Professional Preparation and SFA Educator Preparation, assessment, planning, and accreditation.
  • Conducts and assists faculty conducting qualitative and quantitative research involving design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepares, compiles, and verifies detail-oriented reports or responses that effectively communicate results and findings to appropriate audiences.
  • Compiles and submits information for various custom and mandatory reports and research activities.
  • Supervises reporting activities and confers with or advises representatives from PCOE, other colleges, and external stakeholders regarding reporting requirements.
  • Assists faculty, staff, and students with assessment tools and data management resources.
  • Non-Essential Job Functions

  • Represents the department on various PCOE committees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, university policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, tasks and responsibilities common to a college office of assessment and accountability.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, appropriate research methods and designs.
  • Skill in using data collection platforms.
  • Skill in using data visualization tools.
  • Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and reporting software.
  • Ability to accurately manage and evaluate detail-oriented data.
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to learn office- and university-specific software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to exhibit professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation.
  • Physical Demands Required Education

    Bachelor's degree is required. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.

    Required Experience and Training

    Two years of related experience is required. Experience identifying, organizing, analyzing, and completing tasks is required. Experience with data management is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in accreditation efforts and/or related activities in a higher education setting is preferred.

    Special Conditions for Eligibility

    This is a security-sensitive position subject to criminal record check. This is an IT-sensitive position subject to the Computer and Network Security policy.

    Min Pay Rate Mid Pay Rate Salary Information Commensurate with Experience, Salary Grade - 9 Specific Job Requirements/Duties for this Posting Is Background Check Required? Yes Benefit and Retirement Eligibility

    This position is eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
