PRO­FESS­OR­SHIP Bui­lid­ing phys­ics and build­ing tech­no­logy (W3) com­men­cing on 01.10.2024. Working field:

The pos­i­tion hol­der should rep­res­ent the above areas in teach­ing and rese­arch in the fac­ulty.

The act­ive par­ti­cip­a­tion in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary rese­arch activ­it­ies is expec­ted. The pro­fes­sio­nal involve­ment in shap­ing the struc­tural change in Lusa­tia and the sci­ent­i­fic sup­port of the asso­ci­ated trans­form­a­tion pro­ces­ses are expli­citly desi­red. Exper­i­men­tal rese­arch is pos­sible by means of extens­ive labor­at­or­ies and meas­ure­ment instru­ment­a­tion for build­ing tech­no­logy, build­ing phys­ics, and safety-rela­ted build­ing equip­ment. Rese­arch activ­it­ies are also wel­come at the fac­ulty-affil­i­ated Rese­arch and Mater­ial Test­ing Insti­tute (FMPA). The pro­fess­or­ship has a tech­nical labor­at­ory with staff to pro­vide teach­ing ser­vices in the field of urban water man­age­ment.

Lec­tures are to be held in Ger­man and Eng­lish in the Bach­elor's and Mas­ter's degree pro­grams in civil engin­eer­ing and archi­tec­ture, among oth­ers, as well as in the Mas­ter's degree pro­gram in cli­mate-adap­ted con­struc­tion and oper­a­tion.

The will­ing­ness to par­ti­cip­ate in the aca­demic self-man­age­ment and in the pro­mo­tion of the fac­ulty is requi­red. In this con­text, a lead­ing role in the devel­op­ment and coor­din­a­tion of cour­ses and study pro­grams offe­red in Eng­lish is expec­ted.

Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Bran­den­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Bran­den­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.

Requirements:

The pro­fess­or­ship is part of the Insti­tute of Civil Engin­eer­ing. We are look­ing for a nation­ally and inter­na­tion­ally recog­nized per­son with exper­i­ence in rese­arch, teach­ing, and prac­tice in basic-ori­ented areas of build­ing phys­ics and build­ing tech­no­logy.

Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion and real­isa­tion of third-party foun­ded pro­jects is expec­ted. The rese­arch top­ics should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG (Ger­man Rese­arch Found­a­tion) or com­par­able inter­na­tio­nal rese­arch fund­ing insti­tu­tions.
