PROFESSORSHIP Builiding physics and building technology (W3)
commencing on 01.10.2024.
Working field:
The position holder should represent the above areas in teaching and research in the faculty.
The active participation in interdisciplinary research activities is expected. The professional involvement in shaping the structural change in Lusatia and the scientific support of the associated transformation processes are explicitly desired. Experimental research is possible by means of extensive laboratories and measurement instrumentation for building technology, building physics, and safety-related building equipment. Research activities are also welcome at the faculty-affiliated Research and Material Testing Institute (FMPA). The professorship has a technical laboratory with staff to provide teaching services in the field of urban water management.
Lectures are to be held in German and English in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in civil engineering and architecture, among others, as well as in the Master's degree program in climate-adapted construction and operation.
The willingness to participate in the academic self-management and in the promotion of the faculty is required. In this context, a leading role in the development and coordination of courses and study programs offered in English is expected.
Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
Requirements:The professorship is part of the Institute of Civil Engineering. We are looking for a nationally and internationally recognized person with experience in research, teaching, and practice in basic-oriented areas of building physics and building technology.
Experience in the acquisition and realisation of third-party founded projects is expected. The research topics should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or comparable international research funding institutions.
