The School of Life Sciences (SLS, https:// www. sls.cuhk.edu.hk) invites
applications for tenure-track faculty members at Professor/ Associate
Professor/ Assistant Professor levels.
The School currently has more than 40 academic staff and 150 postgraduate
students. It offers 6 undergraduate programmes, with an overall intake of
about 200 student per year in a four-year curriculum. The SLS has excellent
track record in multi-disciplinary research, including cell biology,
environmental science, food and nutritional science, genomics and
bioinformatics, marine science, plant and agricultural science, physiology and
developmental biology, and protein science. We welcome applicants with strong
records in the following fields:
Biodiversity, ecology, evolution, or organismic biology.
Plant sciences including genomics, genetics, molecular biology and biotechnology.
Any other disciplines complement or enhance the existing strengths of the School.
Applicants should have (i) a relevant PhD degree; (ii) potential for
excellence in teaching; and (iii) a track record in research. The appointees
are expected to (a) develop a significant independent research programme
with external grant support; (b) teach undergraduate and postgraduate
courses; and (c) perform service duties for the School and the University.

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis up to three years, which
subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or
substantiation (tenure) later. Outstanding candidates with substantial
experience for Professor rank may be considered for substantive appointment

qualification and experience.
