Offer Description

Scope of research work: Studies on the productivity of major forage crop species used for the production of high-protein and energy feeds for ruminants and monogastric animals

Evaluation of the nutritional value of concentrated and roughage components

Development and improvement of the agronomic practices of the more important domestic legume species and their mixtures with cereals and soybeans

Development and improvement of the agronomics of maize and sorghum grown for grain and silage in different cropping systems using conservation systems

Improving technology for the production of roughage from grasses and their mixtures with small-seeded bean plants

Evaluation of the physiological status of forage plants in relation to stress factors (abiotic stresses) and agrotechnical treatments applied

Exploring opportunities to increase the efficiency of biological nitrogen fixation by broad bean species

Development and improvement of agrotechnology of intensive and local forage plant species and varieties under organic farming conditions

Research on forage area efficiency in relation to cow herd size and natural and organisational/economic conditions.

Mandatory requirements

1. Possession of a post-doctoral degree in agricultural and/or related sciences, 2. Willingness to undertake research issues justified by the needs of the Institute, 3. Leadership of an externally funded research project or equivalent,, 4. National or foreign research internship, or comparable collaboration with a foreign research institution, documented by joint projects and/or scientific output, 5. Achievement in the training of research staff - acting as supervisor in at least one doctoral thesis initiated, 6. Achievements in previous scientific work, including authorship or co- authorship of scientific publications with a total value of at least 300 points based on the evaluation according to the list of journals from the list of MEiN, 7. Activity in scientific life and organisational skills (reviews of doctoral theses and in postdoctoral proceedings and of publications and/or research projects, organisation and participation in conferences, organisation of workshops, courses, etc.).

1. Knowledge of the world literature on major crop species, especially forage species 2. Experience in planning and conducting rigorous field, micro plot and vase experiments 3. Statistical skills in data analysis: analysis of variance, multivariate analysis (cluster analysis, PCA method ), multiple regression 4. Operation of the Statgraphics computer programme 5. Motivation for scientific work documented by publications and participation in scientific life (including acting as an assistant promoter, scientific internships, participation in scientific conferences).
