The College of Health and Life Sciences at Aston University is looking to appoint an outstanding academic and clinician to the position of Professor of Orthopaedics. This new post presents an exciting opportunity for an outstanding high calibre candidate to join an established environment for translational research and make a significant contribution to future developments within both orthopaedics and musculoskeletal medicine.
You will provide leadership in research and teaching with a clear path of bench to bedside translation of pre-clinical research into patient benefit. Based within Aston Medical School, you will lead the Aston Academic Department of Orthopaedics, developing new research links between departments, at the interface between orthopaedic surgery and industry.
You will have an outstanding track record in orthopaedics, both clinically and academically. You will be able to provide evidence of successfully leading a research group, securing substantial funding and be able to generate an international network of collaborators. You will have substantial experience of working in industry and with regulatory agencies in the development of orthopaedic implants. You will have significant experience of leadership and administration in a collaborative research environment.
