The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy (EJB) seeks to hire a full-time, non-tenure track Professor of Professional Practice at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor for appointment beginning Fall 2021.

The position involves teaching and coordinating components of experiential learning activities for public health, health administration, and public policy undergraduate majors. The position reports to the EJB Associate Dean of Faculty and is supervised by the Undergraduate Program Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Teaching Leadership Seminar (3 credits), Professional Practice Internship (6 credits) and related courses; • Meeting, advising, and coordinating with students on internship placements and career planning; • Managing and supervising student internships in professional settings; • Expanding community partnerships and building positive working relationships with key public health, health administration, and public policy stakeholders at the local, state and national levels; • Developing and implementing new and innovative strategies for recruiting new internship placements; • Recruiting and training qualified internship preceptors in associated agencies and organizations; • Coordinating aspects of the internship program; maintaining accurate records, preceptor databases, contracts and affiliation agreements; • Managing large databases designed for tracking current and new internship sites; • Collecting student data and tracking activities for student- and program- level assessments; reviewing and analyzing those data for developing program modifications and improvements; and • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Graduate Degree (PhD preferred) in relevant field (e.g., public health, health administration, healthcare services, public policy and planning); • At least three (3) years of teaching college-level courses as instructor (direct engagement with internships programs and/or experiential teaching preferred);

Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated understanding of career planning, professional development and leadership skills. • Competency with database management and related tracking software; MS Office, Google docs, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and social media (particularly LinkedIn and career-networking sites)
