About the Department and/or College
TTU offers bachelor's and master's level social work degrees, both accredited with the Council on Social Work Education. The social work programs are housed in the multidisciplinary department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work, which is located within the College of Arts & Sciences. TTU is designated as a Carnegie Research 1 institution, as well as being recognized as an Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).
Major/Essential Functions
Texas Tech University invites applications for an Online Assistant Professor of Practice teaching Social Work in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, & Social Work to begin in Fall of 2023. Residency in Lubbock, TX is not required. Applicant may choose to live anywhere in the United States. Faculty with this non-tenure rank appointment, teach four courses in fall and four courses in spring semesters. Applicants must be able develop web-based modalities from the social work curriculum and teach according to program needs, which may include MSW and/or BASW level instruction, using web-based modalities. Applicants must be available every other summer for additional compensated responsibilities, and other duties as required.

Required Qualifications
Normally, a master's degree in the discipline or the substantiated equivalent in professional experience of ten (10) years or more.
Preferred Qualifications
Essential qualifications include an MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited institution, 2+ years of post-MSW social work practice experience and hold a current state social work licensure from any state within the United States. A commitment to serving and working with diverse populations and demonstrated alignment with the University's strategic priorities and values-based culture. Preferential consideration will be given to qualified candidates with 10+ years of social work practice experience, prior teaching experience with web- based design in higher education, or PhD/DSW in Social Work or a related discipline with experience in social work. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable.
