WBS is an elite, research-led, triple-accredited university-based business school with an excellent portfolio of world-class programmes. Our graduates and academic faculty are among the best in the world.

We are now looking for an outstanding practitioner in the financial sector, who wishes to join the School on a part-time basis (up to 40% FTE) in order to impart their passion for their profession to our students and interact with our professors and other faculty in developing new modules and programmes to increase our students' employability. Specifically, we are seeking to appoint someone with experience and expertise in the most innovative areas of investment management and with proved ability to teach courses in those areas. You will be expected to make the following contributions: (i) contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate offerings, and other executive programmes; (ii) supervision of postgraduate dissertations; (iii) collaborate with faculty carrying out existing programmes of finance research in WBS; (iv) participation in the activities of the Finance Group.

You will have gained a PhD degree. You will need to show enthusiasm for and experience of collaboration with academic research, preferably in a leadership role. You will have a proven track record of achievement in your professional career and a genuine passion for imparting your knowledge and experience to business school students and working with leading business school academics.

Job Purpose

To undertake teaching in order to support the work of the Business School and develop and enhance its reputation, both internally and nationally, outside the University. To design, develop and deliver a range of programmes of study and contribute to the development of teaching and learning strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

1) To teach at a level which is demonstrably excellent, as attested by a range of competent others.

2) To provide leadership in addressing learning, teaching and course development issues institutionally and at least nationally.

3) To have a capacity for creativity and adaptability to changing circumstances and technologies that signals the ability to provide leadership in innovative teaching approaches and methods.

4) To have a record of continuing significant professional development, including leadership in the professional development of others.

5) To provide leadership in the development and maintenance of teaching quality within and beyond the University.

6) To continue to engage with professional practice outside of the University and to utilize the experience and networking this facilitates to enhance your teaching activities within the University.
