The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Science program in the Department
of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester,
Michigan invites applications for two (2) Professor of Practice positions,
to begin June 1, 2022. This is an exceptional growth opportunity to join a

Candidates with experience developing relationships with clinical partners for

to play Coordinating roles.
Guided by the Program Director: the Academic Coordinator shall work with the
Medical Director on administration, evaluation, assessment, and implementation
of the program didactic curriculum; the Clinical Coordinator will lead site
recruitment, administration, evaluation, assessment, and implementation of
clinical experiences; all serving to meet Oakland University and ARC-PA
Teaching responsibilities shall include lecturing, small group facilitation,
mentoring and advising of students. In professional service, faculty members
provide distinct energies to our school, university, and communities of
practice, including student recruitment and retention activities.

School/College & Department/Program Summary
The School of Health Sciences serves about 2000 undergraduate, masters,
doctoral, and post-professional students through the model of advancing
community-engaged translational relationships by connecting theory to best
practices. Building upon the foundations of the natural and behavioral
sciences we are organized departmentally into four themes: Public and
Environmental Wellness, Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Clinical and
Diagnostic Sciences, and Human Movement Science.
The School of Health Sciences offers distinct research support and mentoring
through a number of opportunities including: by the University, the Principal
Investigator Academy, faculty grants, grant writing workshops and support
through the Research Office; and distinctly by the School of Health Sciences,
Seed and Sprout Grants. The Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences program provides
strong connections to the clinical community, features service engagement, and
our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for professional
leadership, research, and clinical expertise.
Oakland University has applied for Accreditation – Provisional from the
Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (
ARC-PA). Oakland University anticipates matriculating its first class in
October 2023, pending achieving Accreditation – Provisional status at the June
2023 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation – Provisional is an accreditation status
granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as
planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to
demonstrate the program's ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a
program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate
continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the
graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.
