The role/Te mahi
As a Professional Practice Fellow in the Early Learning in Medicine (ELM) Programme, you will deliver Integrated Case tutorials to third year medical students.
The Integrated Case Programme Module integrates material from all programmes across ELM, and applies it to a patient's presenting problem or problems. Clinical scenarios are presented in tutorials, and in part as eLearning, to illustrate the application of the medical sciences to clinical practice.
Along with the Clinical Skills Programme, the Integrated Case Programme introduces students to the process of clinical reasoning.

The successful candidate will have: • A health professional qualification, preferably in medicine. • A commitment to modern educational principles and practices. • An aptitude for effective teaching at tertiary level. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Excellent interactive skills with students and staff.
Appointment within the Professional Practice Fellow scale will depend on the candidates' qualifications and experience.
This is a part-time position (0.1FTE up to 0.6FTE), fixed term from February to November 2023.

Tutorial times are: • Cases: Thursday 2 – 4 pm, Friday 11am – 1pm; • EPE (ELM 3): Wednesday 2-4pm, 4-6pm and Thursday 9-11am; • EPE (ELM 2): Monday 4-6pm, Thursday 4-6pm and Friday 2-4pm
Applications to teach one or both tutorials will be considered. The department are open to the position being filled by one candidate (0.6FTE) or multiple candidates (0.1FTE per tutorial time).
