    at the American Studies Center

    holding a doctorate or a PhD and a post-doctoral Habilitation (or an equivalent thereof) in the humanities, in the discipline of history

    Group of employees: research and teaching; number of positions: 1, type of work: full-time,

    period of employment – fixed-term contract, 2 years

    Scientific discipline: Humanities; History

    Applicants must fulfil the conditions laid down in art. 113 of the Act on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85, as amended).


  • a doctorate or a PhD and a post-doctoral Habilitation (or an equivalent thereof) in humanities in history;
  • area of expertise: social history of the United States;

  • a considerable publication record in the modern history of the United States, including at least two monographs and high-ranking journals on the list of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science or indexed on one of the citation databases--Scopus or Web of Science;

  • international research experience, including at least a three-month stay at a foreign research institution;
  • active participation in academic activities, in particular conferences, both domestic and foreign;
  • experience in archival research;
  • university-level teaching experience;
  • complete supervision of at least one doctorate or a PhD;
  • very good command of English.
  • Recommended experience:

  • documented international cooperation;
  • practice in the implementation of innovative teaching methods;
  • experience in incorporating archival research into teaching.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • active participation in scientific research;
  • applying for European and national research grants;
  • building and stewardship of an international scientific network;
  • publishing in established international journals;
  • teaching;
  • active participation in administrative duties.
