An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the central Finance department as Procurement Officer for maternity leave cover on a fixed term contract working in a proactive and value adding team.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a keen interest in Procurement. With a friendly and approachable manner, you will have experience of working proactively and effectively with internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Procurement Manager on all aspects of the procurement life cycle from setting up suppliers to supporting key stakeholders. Demonstrating value for money through spend analysis, implementing processes and procedures and supporting users with the procurement systems are key aspects of the role.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about procurement and supply chains in Higher Education, gain a better understanding of public contract regulations 2015, become involved in tender working groups, get an insight into category management and market engagement , champion procurement processes including use of sector recognised framework agreements , gain familiarity of using e-tendering portal, raise procurement awareness, drive forward efficiencies and support stakeholders in achieving required outcomes from contracts.
The candidate will need to have a good understanding of public sector procurement with
Excellent IT skills, competent in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Self-motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, balancing deadlines.
Able to work proactively and effectively with other departments to deliver best value for money.
Ability to work as a flexible and effective member of a small Procurement Team and wider Finance Team.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Friendly and approachable professional manner
Remuneration
Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £ 37,143 rising to £ 38,127per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
