Principal Teacher Wellbeing (Temporary)

Lockerbie Academy is a 800+ student school situated in the Annandale and
Eskdale district of Dumfries and Galloway.
We are seeking to appoint a Principal Teacher Wellbeing to lead Nurture and
Trauma Responsive practice across Lockerbie Academy and liaise with partners
across the Campus including leadership of Nurture and Wellbeing staff,
teaching, and non-teaching mentors.
You should have a passion for learning, with vision to help to continue take
the school forward.
The school prides itself in that it provides a stable, caring and purposeful
learning atmosphere in which all students have the opportunity to achieve
their maximum potential.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching
Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh,
EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011,
preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG
scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries
and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if
offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be
required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority
in the country or countries in which they were resident.
Please note – Pay arrangements for those starting after 1st day of school
In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT – appendix 2.19),
Teachers who commence employment with Dumfries and Galloway Council after the
first day of the school session will have their salary for the remainder of
the school salary year recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue pay and
leave. In these circumstances, a calculation will be carried out upon
commencement of employment and pay and leave will be adjusted.
